Dreambert and Bedsmith, two Piilo creatures, wake up one morning with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they got there. They find themselves in an unfamiliar house in an unfamiliar town, feeling lost and disoriented. Just as the panic begins, a strange man named Wonky appears, claiming to be their father. He assumes they must have passed out while watching television the night before, but before he can explain further, the situation gets even stranger. A creature named Starlow, a Star Sprite, appears, claiming to be their friend. She says they had plans to meet, but Dreambert and Bedsmith have no memory of her or any such plans. They reluctantly follow Starlow outside, unsure of what surrounds them. They wander around the town, acting as if they don’t recognize their surroundings or Starlow. Despite their confusion, Starlow continues to interact with them as if they were longtime friends. As she shows them around the house, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and names, trying to calm them down. Dreambert and Bedsmith, however, remain confused and unable to understand their past or their relationship to Starlow. As the day progresses, Starlow becomes increasingly concerned, initially thinking that they are simply pretending to forget. But as their strange behavior continues, she begins to worry that something is wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty deepens, and she wonders if there is more to their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are sent back to the house they woke up in, and Wonky – still claiming to be their father – provides them with a bed that seems unfamiliar to them. Too tired and disoriented to protest, they go to sleep. As they fall asleep, their minds are filled with questions about their identities, their pasts, and the cause of their sudden amnesia. The mystery of their lost memories remains unanswered as they drift into a restless sleep, unsure of what the future holds.
